Belle Vue Girls Star in Scarborough!
Twelve of Belle Vue Girls’ Interactors presented live on stage at the Rotary Yorkshire District Conference last Saturday (15 October), and received rapturous applause for their performances.
The girls appeared in the New Generations Showcase – a section of the Conference that focuses on what Rotary has to offer young people. Nine of the students, led by Interact President Henna Hussain, spoke about the many fun and fund-raising activities they have been enjoying as part of their Interact Club, based at Belle Vue Girls' School. The Club (part of Rotary’s teenage section) was set up in February this year, and received its Charter on 16 June at an exciting ceremony attended by many local Rotarians, as well as Shehzad Ahmed, Rotary District Governor for Pakistan & Afghanistan, who presented the Charter. It now has 107 members, and is believed to be the biggest Interact Club in the world!
